As part of the Anzac Centenary commemorations, the National Archives of Australia has developed an API which allows search queries for detailed information from our online catalogue relating to World War I service records. The data available links to our Discovering Anzacs website.
The service personnel dossiers of men and women who served during World War I are held in series B2455 (First Australian Imperial Forces Personnel Dossiers).
We encourage cultural institutions to apply for an API key using the request form, and incorporate in their own Anzac centenary projects links back to search results for individual person profiles on the Discovering Anzacs website.
The Archives may approve or reject an application at its absolute discretion. All information in the application must be true, correct and complete and made in your own name (as a Nominated User and representative of your organisation). If the application is made on behalf of a cultural institution, you must have the authority to represent that cultural institution.
